Rules

1. Respect the Crew

We are a community of writers, creators, and dreamers. Treat all members with respect, regardless of rank, role, or experience. Disagreements can happen — handle them with professionalism and courtesy.

2. Chain of Command

While this is a creative space, we maintain an in-character command structure for story organization.

Commanding Officer (CO) – Leads the Ada Lovelace and approves major plotlines.

Executive Officer (XO) – Supports the CO and coordinates missions and character arcs.

All members are encouraged to contribute ideas, but major story arcs must be cleared through command.

3. Canon & Continuity

Our stories exist within the Post Dominion War and after the last episode of the Deep Space Nine series.

Maintain consistency with established lore.

Introduce new technologies, species, or worlds thoughtfully.

Canon adjustments or timeline shifts must be approved by leadership to ensure continuity.

4. Writing Standards

We are a collaborative storytelling group.

Write in third person, past tense (unless otherwise approved for logs or reports).

Proofread before posting — quality matters more than speed.

Respect the writing tone of Star Trek: optimism, exploration, and diplomacy balanced with dramatic conflict.

5. Character Conduct

Your character’s actions should align with Starfleet principles and your role aboard the Archlight.

Avoid “god-moding” (controlling another player’s character without consent).

Avoid unrealistic power or invulnerability.

Character growth, challenge, and teamwork make better stories.

6. Posting Frequency

Stay active to keep the story alive.

Minimum expectation: one post per week (unless on leave).

If you’ll be away, notify the CO or XO so your character can be written out temporarily.

7. Collaboration & Consent

Major character events (injury, death, romance, etc.) require the player’s consent.

Communication is key — discuss plot twists before posting. Collaboration strengthens immersion.

8. Creative Freedom

Members are encouraged to propose missions, side stories, or subplots.

All creative proposals should:

Fit within the Ada Lovelace ongoing narrative.

Avoid contradicting established lore or canon events.

Receive approval from the CO or XO for any potential new species or major additions to the SIM.

9. Behavior & Conduct

No discrimination, harassment, or hate speech — zero tolerance.

Content is R-rated, making this SIM an 18+ (323) language, sex, violence. Again, please keep in mind that it needs to always add to the SIM, in line with Star Trek’s tone and community guidelines.

Real-world politics or sensitive issues should be handled respectfully or avoided.

10. Have Fun & Explore Boldly

Ada Lovelace is more than a ship — it’s a place to create, collaborate, and explore infinite possibilities.

Remember: every post you make contributes to a shared universe.

Write boldly. Explore deeply. Engage fully.
