The difference is small enough to be almost invisible and large enough to be noticed by anyone who has spent time on both sides of the shared head. No shelf. This has not been discussed. SECURE COMMS TERMINAL Same encrypted channel as the COs for operational coordination, but the CO's terminal carries one additional authorization level that the XO's does not. Whether the XO is aware of this distinction depends on the XO. The current XO has not asked. This may mean they don't know. It may mean they've decided not to ask. On a ship like this, both are reasonable positions. SHARED HEAD — CO / XO ONLY Accessed through hatches on the adjoining bulkheads of both quarters — starboard from the CO's side, port from the XO's. Toilet and shower. A small indicator light above each hatch shows occupancy. By convention this is respected. The CO and XO have not discussed the arrangement in any recorded log entry, which suggests it is working. |
