Mission:
A New Dawn
Location: Deep Space Nine
Khaki mid-drift buttoned top, sleeves rolled up to just below her elbows, low-riding cargo pants, with a belt featuring her uncle's ranch logo, her arms were crossed as she stared at the grey-haired man in front of her. And before either of them knew what was happening, Aleshanee stepped forward and punched Decker right in the jaw.
Decker stumbled back, shocked by what just happened, "holy shit, what the fuck," he growled, but stopped as he saw the look on her face. "Alright, alright, I deserve that, and probably more," he said, putting his hands up. "....but you knew....," he started, but stopped, as he braced for what he knew was coming.
"You fucker, you fucker," she shouted as Decker braced himself, but allowed her blows to land on his chest, "you left, you just left," she cried angrily, torn between glad to see him, and wanting to kill him herself, "....you fucker," she said breathlessly as she collapsed into his embrace.
Decker didn't say a word, didn't try to stop her, just allowed it to happen, as if something just needed to happen. What could he say? He did leave, yes, it was by order, but he could have told her. However, he knew the mission he had accepted, and that the chance of his surviving it was 0%, so what good would it have been? It would have been the right thing, but he took the coward's way out, and he knew it.
Aleshanee kept hitting until she collapsed, her forehead resting on his chest, her fists still hitting, but they were taps now, 'you fucker," she whispered, her tears finally stopping, and she was able to regain her composure. "You left me, and my brain understands why, but my heart, my heart...," she started, but stopped.
Decker just held her, held her just tight enough that she felt support, but loose enough that she could push away, "do you remember what your uncle said about us," Decker asked, still holding her, not trusting himself to look at her just yet.
Aleshanee just nodded, knowing that Decker could feel it, and it was all he needed to say, as it was still true, and would always be true. Decker then lifted her head by placing a finger under her chin and kissed her, "godamn it!" Aleshanee sighed, melting into the kiss, "you bastard, and I missed you," she finally said with a soft smile.
It didn't take long for them to fall back into their old ways, and after spending most of the night talking, and well, other things which ended up in her bed, where both of them were going to get some of the best sleep they had had in a long while, as they were back in each other's arms.
